This is not only a great gallery but also a really interesting space with a tranquil outdoor area at the end of the canal.
When I visited Sarah Sze was exhibiting in the lower galleries. Her conceptual installations of ordinary objects were fascinating in their attention to detail. Some equipped with motors or magnets that enabled movement and light.
This series of large and highly detailed tapestries – the vanity of small differences – by Grayson Perry is an extraordinarily observed view of English classes. However it is not remotely disparaging but warm hearted and respectful.
